The conference will be held at Arizona State University in-person on Saturday, March 28, 2026 with a virtual option.
This year’s keynote lecture will be delivered by Dr. Thom Reilly, Professor and Co-Director, Center for an Independent and Sustainable Democracy, School of Public Affairs, Arizona State University. He will be presenting with his research team on his forthcoming book, Child Abduction in the War in Ukraine: Erasing Ukrainian Identity as a Tool of War (Routledge, 2026).

ASU’s Center for an Independent and Sustainable Democracy (CISD) hosted 18 EU diplomats from the Bertelsmann Foundation, a transatlantic-minded think tank in Washington, D.C., on November 13, 2025. The informal discussion focused on nonpartisan reforms and insights into independent voters and their role in shaping political outcomes. Many thanks to those who helped host our guests: Shannon Portillo (ASU School of Public Affairs), Thomas Collins (Arizona Clean Elections), Joe Garcia (Chicanos Por La Causa), and ASU students Trent Ashdown, Samhira Babiker, Maria Blandon, Jacob Lacheta, Diego Rodriguez, and Oliva Moran Williams.
