Instructions For Creating And Uploading Your Video To You Tube

Step 1: Create Your Application Video

Create your application video. The video must be no longer than 2 minutes and must be recorded in one continuous take without any cuts or edits.

Step 2: Open YouTube and select “Create”

Sign in to your YouTube account. We recommend using a computer for uploading your video as it is a bit faster and more user friendly.

Click the Create button in the upper-right corner, then select Upload video.

Step 3: Upload Your Video

Click Select Files and choose your completed fellowship application video from your computer or device.

Step 4: Add Your Video Title and Description

Give your video a clear title. For example:

Marvin Andrews and Jane Morris Fellowship Application – [Your Name]

You may also add a short description identifying yourself and the fellowship application.

Your title/description screenshot works well here.

Choose a thumbnail image. We recommend using a photo of yourself or another identifying image.

You do not need an audio link or other checks offered. You will need to select the prompt asking if it is appropriate for kids.

Step 5: Set Your Video to “Unlisted”

This is important because an unlisted video can only be viewed by people who have the link. Do not select Private, because the fellowship committee may not be able to access your video.

Step 6: Save and Copy Your Video Link

After selecting Unlisted, click Save. YouTube will provide a link to your uploaded video.

Click Copy Link.

Step 7: Test Your Link

Before submitting your application, open the link in a private/incognito browser window to make sure the video can be viewed without requesting permission.

Step 8: Add the Link to Your Fellowship Application

Paste your YouTube link into the designated video-response section of the fellowship application. Double-check that you pasted the entire link before submitting.
