Job Posting

The School of Public Affairs partners with ASU Career Services to provide maximum benefits of promoting work-integrated learning and employment opportunities through the recruitment platform ASU CareerLink (powered by 12twenty). The platform is free for employers to join and post roles.

Internship

Everyone wants to hire knowledgeable and skilled candidates. Hosting internship and other work-integrated learning and employment opportunities is a great way to tap into talent early.

We will guide your in the process of developing an internship at your organization and answer frequently asked questions regarding internships for ASU students. In an effort to provide the best opportunities to ASU students and graduates. SPA Career and Professional Development works with employers to create and maintain quality internship programs that meet the general internship qualifications at Arizona State University. Together, it is our goal that all internships provide a
mutually beneficial experience to students and alumni as well as our employer partners.

Career Events

ASU and SPA Career events are designed to connect talented students and graduates with employers of interest for career exploration and conducting searches for work-learning opportunities to integrate  You can access a calendar, and join us for in-person and virtual career fairs held each fall and spring semester. Fairs are open to all ASU students and alumni, with employers from every industry invited to participate.

During the academic year SPA Career and Professional Development hosts Career Connections events bringing students, faculty, alumni and employer/community partners together for social and professional networking and professional development activities.  Contact us to learn how you can participate or host.
 

Information Session and Class Visit

We can help you schedule an information session or class visit to build a presence promote a work-integrated learning or employment opportunities on a date and time of your choice.  

Use an Info Sessions to introduce your organization to students and graduates of University, Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions and School of Public Affairs. Schedule in-person or virtual sessions during the academic year to fit your recruitment needs.

A Class Visit can put you in from of broad or targeted audiences at various academic and skill level.  Classes vary if format, with many online and asynchronous meetings.

Daytime sessions for both Information Session and Class Visit are are possible but note that students will be less available due to class and work schedules. Virtual, in-person and recorded sessions can be utilized.  Contact our Coordinator to discuss best options.

 

Student Organizations

Identify your next great hire by reaching students within your target audience, connecting with student organizations. 

Two SPA student organizations of interest are the ASU-ICMA (International City/County Management Association) Student Chapter and the Emergency Management Student Association (EMSA).  Elected Student Leaders schedule events and activities throughout the academic year for members to meet public service professionals in local and state government and professional organizations, discover work-learning and employment positions and pathways, and tour facilities that support and enhance residents lives.

Career Shadow or Discovery Experience

Consider hosting a career shadow or discovery visit to connect with ASU School of Public Affairs students and introduce them to your organization and career opportunities.

Whether you host an individual student for a half-day shadow experience or welcome a small group for an introduction, workplace tour, and conversations with employees, these experiences give students a valuable behind-the-scenes look at your organization. Students gain firsthand insight into public service and public policy careers, workplace culture, and potential career paths.

For employers, career shadowing and discovery visits offer a meaningful way to showcase your organization, engage with emerging talent, and build your future talent pipeline while helping students make informed career decisions.
