Civic Renewal in America

America's democracy and civil society are in trouble. "Civic renewal means addressing both citizens' disengagement and institutional corruption. It requires community organizing, public deliberation, civic education, new forms of media, accountable institutions, and political reform. In this lecture, Dr. Peter Levine will describe what a civic renewal requires and advocate a strategy for getting it.

Peter Levine is the associate dean for research and Lincoln Filene Professor of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Tufts University's Jonathan Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service.
