Bob Ramsey Executive Education

The Bob Ramsey Executive Education Program provides innovative professional development programs and customized services that build the capacity of people and organizations that serve the public.

Executive Education delivers quality professional development programs for public managers, executives and elected officials. Serving clients from international, federal, state, county, municipal and tribal government, Executive Education offers management training and workshops on current public administration issues and challenges.

These include the following certificate programs:

The CPM program is a nationally recognized management development program for public managers and supervisors from all government levels. 28 states (including Arizona) participate in the National CPM Consortium, which establishes the accreditation requirements.  This professional certification is designed to create thoughtful practitioners who apply useful managerial techniques to address public-sector challenges. The emphasis is on practical application.

For decades, states, cities, towns and counties have used CPM programs to develop their managers. The tribal certified public manager course supports tribal self-determination and capacity- building by providing a CPM program tailored to tribal government needs.   Participants develop practical management skills for working with elected officials, tribal members and other managers so critical to the effectiveness of tribal governments.  Recognizing the wide variety of tribal government structures, the program focuses on skills and tools that are common and basic to tribal management.

The Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Institute and Academy are designed by the School of Public Affairs, at Arizona State University and the Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Association, to meet the professional development needs of Arizona Municipal Clerks. The Institute provides a comprehensive curriculum in public administration, leadership, management and technical skills, as well as personal development. The Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Institute is accredited by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and meets the IIMC education requirements for Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC).

The ASU Fire Service Institute is designed to build the capacity of civilian and sworn fire and emergency services professionals, in government operated, fire and emergency services organizations. In five days of highly interactive sessions, participants explore the dynamic nature of government and communities they serve, with a focus on strategic and operational issues that impact the current and future mission of the American Fire Service.

Strategic organizational and personal growth opportunities, leadership development, skills enhancement, and a forum to exchange ideas and best practices with other public sector professionals await you!  Please join your colleagues for the ASU Management and Leadership Institute.  In eight days of highly interactive sessions, you will identify, explore, and develop strategies to address the challenges and opportunities that are transforming society, communities, and government organizations.

The Certificate in Public Administration for International Leaders is designed to meet the unique needs of elected and appointed officials from a particular country or region of the world. This Certificate Program will emphasize on practical applications of public policies and programs rather than academic approaches to theories on government institutions, organizations, and public administration. The international delegates will examine effective policies and programs, best practices, success cases, and innovative models of public administration and business practice in the United States. Topics such as leadership, collaboration, public-private partnerships, community conflict resolutions, pollution, urban challenges and opportunities, information technology, and electronic government practices.
