Bachelor of Urban and Metropolitan Studies
Students who meet the minimum university admission requirements will be admitted to the Urban & Metropolitan Studies program as preprofessional. Professional Status admission requirements include the completion of at least 56 semester hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50; the university First-Year Composition requirement and the university mathematical general studies requirement; the College of Public Programs requirements in writing competence, communication, and computer requirements; and the completion of the following Urban and Metropolitan Studies core with a minimum of “C” or higher: URB 100 or 300, 105 or 305, 220 and 250.
Classes are scheduled for Fall 2008. Students can also register for these classes as exploratory students.
Minor in Urban and Metropolitan Studies
Eligibility to pursue the minor requires a major or pre-major other than Urban and Metropolitan Studies. Students pursuing the Urban and Metropolitan Studies Minor must see an advisor in their major in order to add the minor to their degree audit (DARS). If a Program of Study has been completed instead of DARS (athletes and those following older catalogs), then complete a minor verification form available in the College of Public Programs. See course requirements.
