MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION - MPA

MPA Internships and Capstone

A public service internship is recommended for MPA students without previous administrative experience in government. The purpose of the internship is to provide students with practical and professional experience in a specific career area. Students work in and for public organizations applying the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired in their program of study. During the internship experience, students can develop a professional network that will aid them in their pursuit of a career in government or non-profit organizations. Students can apply three hours of internship credit to the degree program.

For more information on the internship program, contact the School of Public Affairs at 602-496-0450, or download the School of Public Affairs Internship Brochure.

You can find out more about internships with the School of Public Affairs by reading the blogs students have posted regrading their internship experiences.

PAF 509 is taken after completion of all required core courses. Any exceptions to MPA policy must meet with MPA Director permission. Students must submit a MPA Program of Study and obtain department approval before registering for PAF 509.
