MARVIN ANDREWS GRADUATE PROGRAM IN URBAN MANAGEMENT

The Marvin Andrews Graduate Program in Urban Management is offered by the School of Public Affairs at Arizona State University in cooperation with the Arizona City Management Association. Located at Arizona State University’s newest campus in downtown Phoenix, Arizona—a center for local government innovation—the program offers a special focus on the process of management innovation and a unique blend of theory and practice.

The program, which leads to a Masters degree in Public Administration (learn more about the MPA), is designed to identify the country’s most talented students aspiring to executive levels in local government.

The Marvin Andrews Fellows receive the knowledge, training, and necessary experience to help them become future city/county managers in local government as well as:

  • In their first year, Andrews Fellows enjoy the prestige associated with working as a paid research assistant for the Alliance for Innovation, the premier networking association for cities and counties committed to innovation and transforming local government, during their first academic year.

  • In their second year, Marvin Andrews Fellows will receive a paid 20-hour per week internship with one of the many progressive and fast-growing cities in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

  • Each student also receives a tuition waiver (in-state or out-of-state), health insurance and an annual scholarship along with countless other benefits.

Each year, our program may select up to five elite students admitted to the ASU School of Public Affairs who are interested in receiving their Master in Public Administration with a strong concentration in urban management, which is one of the top nationally ranked public administration programs in the country.

Only the best and the brightest students from around the country are chosen to participate as Andrews Fellows.
